In order to embody the requirement that is a comprehensive change containing organization culture in schools more effectively, it is essential to definitise the factors and conditions that make organizational behavior more smoothly. So we adopted ‘resilience’ as a concept corresponding the solution to such tasks.
First of all, we considered several analytical models that can perceive organizational dynamics in schools more properly by reviewing preceding studies about organizational resilience. Then we examined a possibility of organizational resilience by making these models a reference when we described practices in a Japanese public high school.
Specifically, we analyzed and interpreted the introduction of morning study in S high school from the point of view‘cognitive/behavioral/contextual resilience(Lengnick-Hall & Beck, 2005)’.
Consequently, we indicated the significance of redundancy - abundant resource and network is important for organizational resilience - and the importance of school leadership.
