Abstract
This paper reports how we conducted the panel survey (“Learning and Work Alumni Survey of the University of Tokyo”) for graduates of the Secondary School Attached to the Faculty of Education, University of Tokyo (SSAFE). The purpose of the survey is to articulate students’ data from school matriculation to their schooling and work since graduating from SSAFE. From September to October 2021, we sent the questionnaires to graduates of SSAFE (class of 2016); we got 55 respondents. The following items are excerpted from the question items in this panel survey. We report the characteristics of the graduates of SSAFE. In this paper, we refer to (1) learning at SSAFE; (2) learning at the university; (3) learning through work; (4) impact of the spread of the new coronavirus infection; (5) “inquiry,” “citizenship,” and “cooperation ,”, which are unique to learning at SSAFE. Finally, we analyze survey data from the perspective of the connection between learning in secondary education and higher education and work, and discuss future issues, paying particular attention to the development of “inquiry,” “citizenship,” and “cooperation”
